Have you started making plans for your Thanksgiving extravaganza? We are just over a week away from the holiday that celebrates how thankful we are for friends, family, and food, which is also the core of who we are at De Nigris.
If you’re like me and have already started to prepare a menu for Thanksgiving, then you’re probably thinking about what drinks you’re going to make to accompany all that delicious food. To mix it up a bit this year, I tried something new and created a hard apple cider cocktail that’ll be sure to keep the conversation lively! I used pear infused balsamic vinegar to balance out the sweetness and the result was a refreshing yet cozy drink perfect for fall.
1/2 bottle of a dry hard apple cider (we used Angry Orchard Bone Dry) - 1oz maple or honey flavored whiskey - 1oz apple brandy - 1/2 oz cinnamon liquor - 1 tsp. De Nigris Balsamic Vinegar or Fruttati of choice - 1 sliced apple and a cinnamon stick for garnish
- Have two glasses handy that are about the same size.
- Fill one glass with whiskey, brandy, cinnamon liquor and balsamic vinegar. Give it a quick stir. Fill the other glass with ice and then half-way with hard apple cider. Pour the contents of the other glass over the cider and give a very gentle stir (you don’t want to stir out the bubbles!). Top off with some more hard cider, garnish with a couple pieces of sliced apple and a cinnamon stick, and say cheers to autumn!
As you start to prepare your Thanksgiving toast, make sure you have a fun, festive drink to share with your guests. What are your festive drink plans for Thanksgiving this year?
