Italian Old-Fashioned Cocktail

Posted on 23 March 2019

There comes a time in life where every good pantry should have ingredients stocked for the basics of life. Chicken soup, stir-fry and a good old-fashioned cocktail.

Old-fashioned cocktails are one of those drinks that pleases just about anyone with its perfect mixture of sweet and sour. Traditionally made by dropping cocktail bitters on a sugar cube, this recipe adds a delightful Italian touch. Instead of cocktail bitters, substitute with balsamic vinegar to add a richer depth to the drink. This recipe makes one drink. I recommend you double it and kick back and enjoy it with a loved one.

1 sugar cube
1 drop De Nigris Balsamic Vinegar of Modena 35% grape must
2 ounces bourbon
crushed ice
4 ounces club soda

  • Add sugar cube to double old-fashioned cocktail glass and add drop of De Nigris Balsamic Vinegar of Modena 35% grape must. Let sit for one minute to soak in.
  • Add crushed ice.
  • Add bourbon and fill up glass with club soda.
  • Serve and enjoy!
